Privacy Policy
Developer Toolbox · Last updated: August 24, 2026
Developer Toolbox ("the Extension") is a browser utility for developers. This policy explains what information the Extension can access, how that information is used, and what we do not do with your data.
Summary
- All processing happens locally in your browser.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
- We do not require an account.
- We do not upload page content to external servers.
Information the Extension may access
The Extension only accesses data when you actively open a tool or use a feature such as the toolbar button, side panel, context menu, or keyboard shortcut.
- Website content: When you use page tools, the Extension may read content from the active tab, such as links, images, metadata, text, colors, and DOM structure, to provide inspection and extraction features.
- Network activity: When you use the Requests or Fetch/cURL tools, the Extension may observe network request metadata such as URL, method, status, resource type, timestamps, and non-sensitive headers. Sensitive headers such as cookies, authorization values, and authentication tokens are redacted.
- Extension storage: The Extension may store small amounts of local session data, such as which tool to open after a context menu action or a recently generated CSS selector result.
Information we do not collect
- Personally identifying information such as name, email, or address
- Health, financial, or payment information
- Authentication credentials, passwords, or session tokens
- Personal communications
- Location data such as GPS coordinates
- A persistent browsing history database
- Keystrokes, mouse movement, scroll activity, or behavioral tracking
How data is used
Any data accessed by the Extension is used only to provide its developer utility features on your device. Data is not used for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or purposes unrelated to the Extension's functionality.
Data sharing and transfers
We do not sell, rent, transfer, or disclose user data to third parties. The Extension does not send page content or network data to external servers operated by us or by analytics providers.
Data retention
Most processing happens in memory while you use a tool. Small local session values may be stored in browser extension storage until cleared by the browser or extension update. We do not maintain remote user profiles or cloud backups of your browsing data.
Permissions
The Extension requests browser permissions only to provide its features, including:
- Side panel for the main interface
- Active tab and tabs access for page tools on the current website
- Storage for lightweight local session state
- Context menus and commands for quick actions
- Web request observation for developer network inspection tools
- Host access for normal http/https websites that you choose to inspect
Restricted pages
The Extension cannot inspect restricted browser pages such as Chrome internal pages. When a page cannot be accessed, the Extension displays a clear message instead of attempting unsupported access.
Children's privacy
The Extension is intended for developers and technical users. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
